If, after seeing what we are doing around here; you still need an incentive to join the evolution revolution, I want to tell you what your membership can do for you. In becoming a member, you will gain access to all kinds of stuff that you can’t access already. Let me tell you what that is.
The research portal is an area of Freethinker Nation that gives you access to HTML and PDF books, and research papers. You can read and study the works of greats like Isaac Newton and Einstein, or you can study the earliest works of Plato and Aristotle. We try to provide FREE access to any, and everything we can get our hands on, and you will find it in the research portal. You can also use the Members Research area to post your own ideas and see what the community thinks or see if you can nab a collaborator. Our long term goals include aiding the research of our members whenever we can, which brings us to the next great bonus to becoming a member.
Our Chatroom is a place where you can talk live with the staff at Freethinker Nation, other members, and authors. The room allows you to speak in real time with other members of Freethinker Nation, and event potentially gain some insight into your own research. You may be able to find a collaborator or debate current theories. It is FREE and included in your membership. There is nothing like having a real conversation with someone, including site administrators. You can also use the Chat function to speak privately with other members in case you don't want the entire community to hear your conversation. It is a great function that is only offered to members of Freethinker Nation.
When you become a member of Freethinker Nation, you can contribute articles, essays and research excerpts to the site. We will publish your articles (with byline & short Bio) and the entire world will be able to see it, and debate it with you. As part of the contributor group, you will also be eligible to seek financial aid for your current/ongoing research through a donation request. When you put in a donation request on our site, you provide a synopsis of your current research project (by following proper protocols as mentioned in the 'Donation Request Guidelines' section) and Paypal Account info. From there, you may get financial aid for your work
R.I.P. Aaron Swartz
Aaron Swartz was a champion of the information age. He is the founder of Demand Progress, which fought against (and won) internet censorship bill SOPA/PIPA. He is also a Contributing Editor to The Baffler and on the Council of Advisors to The Rules. He was involved in the development of the RSS feeds, and the markdown publishing format, and his involvement with the Creative commons is widely known. He was also partnered with Reddit after merging his company Infogami with it. He was a strong supporter of Open Access. The Open Access Movement has fought valiantly to ensure that scientists do not sign their copyrights away but instead ensure their work is published on the Internet, under terms that allow anyone to access it. Aaron Committed suicide after being pressured and threatened by the FBI, after the federal government charged him with two counts of wire and eleven violations of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, which carry a cumulative maximum penalty of $1 million in fines, and 35 years in prison. He also would have had to forfeit his assets and pay restitution....all for downloading JStore database files with the intent on making the information contained within FREE to the public. He is a hero of Freethinker Nation members, who believe that knowledge should be FREE as part of the intellectual evolutionary process of humanity. In June 2013, Swartz was inducted posthumously into the Internet Hall of Fame. Help us keep his memory and mission alive by becoming a member.
